National
The national headline is computed from national CEX 2000 weights and national price series. It is the canonical citation surface and the comparison baseline for the state series.

States & DC
State series use national CEX weights × state-specific prices where available, with documented per-stratum fallback to national data when state-level source data is missing. Per-state coverage disclosure surfaces on each state's landing page.
